About Me!
I’m Ashley, a Year 12/G11 student based in Hong Kong, and I love languages. The many languages of the world, the way languages evolve, and the cultural ties language has with society have all fascinated and inspired me to delve deeper into these topics.
As a multilingual myself (English, Cantonese, Chinese and Spanish (kind of)), languages have played a huge part in my life from childhood, and that impact slowly developed into a deep curiosity about what linguistics and languages are all about.
The role that languages have in our lives has been taken for granted, so I hope that through this blog, you can take something away about languages from the quiet but powerful impact they have on us all, to interesting quirks about language in different cultures and societies
Aside from linguistics/languages, I love to read, listen to music, sing, and dance, amongst other hobbies.
